Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Dana Haughton came into the limelight in 1994 when she debuted her first album Age Ain't Nothing More Than A number. Aaliyah Danahaughton was only fifteen when her debut album was released as Gold. The album was an album that was heavily in the style of R. Kelly and it put the singer in the limelight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland in her album, One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit song If Your Girl only Knew. Aaliyah gained international recognition as an R&B artist with the launch of her second album, One In A Million. She was a part of the romantic action film Romeo Must Die alongside martial artists Jet-Li. Joel Silver, film producer and director of the movie Romeo Must Die caught her during an awards event. Queen of the Damned was her first role in 2002. The story is based on the Anne Rice novel. She then got into the Matrix with her role as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also appeared as a character in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. She received four Grammy nominations in 2001, 1999, 2002 and 2003. She is a first-generation Indian-American from Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann is derived from her marriage name Mankad. She uses Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for professional names. Although her early career was filled with minor movie and TV performances, she rose to greater notoriety in the late 2000s. Other notable works she has done comprise Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. The actress also appeared in a variety of commercials including Volvo and other major automobile brands. The actress currently resides in Los Angeles along with her husband, daughter and pursues her acting career.
