The jazz singer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award-winner was born on February 20 1937 in Ohio, Chillicothe. She was the daughter of iron worker Olden Wilson and his wife Lillian Ryan who worked as a domestic servant. Nancy Wilson was first baby of six. Cannonball adderley encouraged her to travel into New York in order to improve her career. The city she went to was The Big Town, New York in 1959. In just a few months she had been singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club situated on Boston Road near The Bronx. Adderley's representative saw her singing and instantly signed her.
