Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson, an ironworker in Chillicothe on February 20, 1937. The mother of her child, Lillian Ryan worked as housekeeper. Nancy was the youngest out of 6 siblings. The passion for music that her father had and the records he played at home had a major influence on Nancy as a young girl. When she was four, Nancy knew that she would like to become a musician. She developed her musical talent through singing in church choirs. At the age of 16 when she started appearing frequently in Skyline Melodies. She was fifteen when she won the television talent show. That same year, Nancy began working at nightclubs. When she graduated from high school, the 17-year old Nancy was enrolled for a year at Ohio's Central State College now Central State University before going on to become a professional performer. Her first record was recorded in 1956 by Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band. The band was on tour with her between 1956 and 1958. As part of the group, Nancy made her first recording in the studio of Dot Records. Cannonball adderley advised her to go into New York in order to improve her career. The city she went to was The Big Town, New York in the year 1959. Within a short time she began singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club which is located at Boston Road near The Bronx. Adderley's representative was able to hear her perform and promptly signed her. He signed a contract with Capitol records in 1960 and she made her debut that year with the single. Guess Who I Stopped Today. Her records were successful and Capitol issued 5 Nancy Wilson albums in two years. Adderley helped her move away from R&B to jazz and torch song. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley formed a band in 1962. This led to her rise up in the chart. By 1963 she had the biggest success with Tell Me the Truth. Following that year the release, she was getting booked in New York's Coconut Grove - the top nightclub in America.

In 2013, she appeared as Korr Sella, as Korr Sella, Short Wars: Forces Awakening in the year 2015. In 2016, she was a part of Netflix's Original Film The Kissing Booth Season 2 as Chloe Winthrop.
