Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson as an ironworker in Chillicothe on 20 February 1937. The mother of her child, Lillian Ryan worked as housekeeper. After a few weeks after, her manager heard her singing and hired her. Her debut on the recording stage came in the year 1960, with the single "Girls" after she signed a deal with Capitol records. Under the direction of Cannonball Adderley Wilson's direction, she began to focus on R&B however she soon switched to torch and jazz.
